According to a company statement, the Bitpanda board of directors has started searching for Enzersdorfer-Konrad’s successor, considering both internal and external candidates.

Lukas Enzersdorfer-Konrad, CEO of Austrian crypto trading platform Bitpanda, announced on LinkedIn that he will step down as CEO in Q1 2027. He said: “After an incredible journey building Bitpanda, I have made the personal decision to step down as CEO in Q1/2027.”

According to a company statement, the Bitpanda board of directors has started searching for Enzersdorfer-Konrad’s successor, considering both internal and external candidates.

Enzersdorfer-Konrad joined Bitpanda as chief operating officer in 2018 and later took on additional responsibilities, including chief product officer in 2021 and deputy CEO in 2022. He became co-CEO in August 2025 and sole CEO a few months later.

Enzersdorfer-Konrad will continue to lead the platform as CEO until his departure, supported by co-founder and chief scientist Christian Trummer, who has been appointed as co-CEO. Bitpanda will continue to develop its multi-asset offering, spanning crypto, stocks, ETFs, and precious metals, and plans to expand its infrastructure for financial institutions.

Bitpanda, founded in 2014 by Trummer, Paul Klanschek, and Eric Demuth, has grown to provide crypto and digital asset broker solutions to over seven million users and several blue-chip institutional partners. The platform offers access to over 650 crypto-assets, nine indices, four precious metals, and more than 10,000 stocks, exchange-traded funds, and exchange-traded commodities.
