Ominimo teams with ElevenLabs for AI voice assistants

Ominimo has partnered with ElevenLabs to deploy AI voice assistants across its European operations. The insurtech firm, which recently secured a US$1.6 billion valuation, aims to automate much of its customer communication using the platform.
Traditional customer service often involves handling rigid Interactive Voice Response (IVR) menus. These systems rely on scripted answers and limited databases, forcing users to hunt for specific keywords. Ominimo plans to move past this legacy approach using ElevenLabs’ conversational models.
These agents can reason and converse with customers in real time. The system detects language instantly and switches between more than 70 languages without delay. This capability allows Ominimo to assist global clients without transferring calls or waiting for human translators.
According to the announcement, the assistants will handle specific tasks like sending payment confirmations, green cards, and coverage certificates. They can also update policy or vehicle details and guide users through the claims process. DuĊĦan Komar, the founder and CEO of Ominimo, noted that the technology understands natural language well enough to execute specific requests rather than just answering questions.
The integration will likely handle a significant portion of these interactions. Ominimo has set a goal to manage close to 100% of customer communication through these digital tools, though it will retain the option for users to speak to a live agent if they choose.

Growth and global expansion
This partnership arrives as Ominimo scales rapidly. The company became the first fintech unicorn in Serbia after closing its Series B funding round. It has also formed a strategic alliance with Zurich Insurance Group to expand its footprint.
ElevenLabs provides lifelike synthetic speech to other major fintech firms, including Revolut, Klarna, and Stripe. Ominimo will utilize these models to assist customers 24 hours a day with consistent service quality and zero wait times. For the company, the system offers infinite capacity and secure handling of sensitive data, provided the AI can maintain accuracy at that scale.
The move positions Ominimo to enter the US market while handling complex tasks across its existing European operations. The firm has ambitious growth targets, and the use of globally scalable AI models aligns with its strategy to handle high volumes of inquiries efficiently.
Ominimo’s rapid ascent mirrors a broader trend of slowing innovation within the UK’s financial technology sector. The firm’s recent success stands in contrast to the struggles faced by many peers in the region, where a downturn has dampened the pace of development and investment.
