Fiserv is overhauling the technology platform that powers payments, account processing and digital-banking services for banks and merchants. The company’s market value sits near $26 billion, down from its peak of about $90 billion.

The firm describes itself as a financial-infrastructure business covering payments, account processing, digital banking, merchant acquiring, network services and e-commerce technology, and it powers commerce through Clover. Its systems run behind daily money movements for thousands of institutions.

In June 2026, the board named Takis Georgakopoulos chief executive, effective immediately. He joined the organization in late 2024 after spending 17 years leading payments at J.P. Morgan Chase’s corporate and investment bank, where he rose from executive vice president to chief operating officer and co-president before moving to the new role.

Georgakopoulos inherits a mandate to simplify a sprawling technology estate, boost service delivery and scale artificial-intelligence tools across the organization. The focus is on tightening product integration rather than hunting for a single breakthrough offering, and on creating a more cohesive suite of services that can be delivered with fewer internal hand-offs.

Fiserv says the simplification effort is intended to improve service delivery and support the scaling of artificial-intelligence tools across the organization.
